About the Venue	The Angel Hotel is privately owned and has been closely associated with the historic town of Midhurst and neighbouring Cowdray Estate since the 16th Century. It is a fine example of an old English stage-coach inn, sympathetically restored and upgraded. The hotel retains its heritage behind a neo-classical façade and many quality architectural features from its Tudor origins. The front of the hotel overlooks the town and to the rear, behind flower filled courtyards and peaceful rose gardens, lie open meadows and the atmospheric ruins of Cowdray Castle. The 28 bedrooms are all individual in character, some with four poster beds, separate sitting rooms, original fireplaces and views of the beautiful gardens and Cowdray Castle. All have ensuite bathrooms and many have wireless broadband. The Angel has a choice of function rooms from the more formal Court Room to the garden room in the walled garden or the elegant Cowdray Room. Try the Angel Hotel’s highly acclaimed modern bistro for appetizing lunchtime snacks or it’s delectable evening menu. Petworth House Magnificent country house and park with an internationally important art collection The vast 17th century mansion is set in a beautiful park, landscaped by 'Capability' Brown and immortalised in Turner's paintings. The house contains the Trust's finest and largest collection of pictures, with numerous works by Turner, Van Dyck, Reynolds and Blake, as well as ancient and neo-classical sculpture, fine furniture and carvings by Grinling Gibbons. The Servants' Quarters contain fascinating kitchens (including a splendid copper batterie de cuisine of over 1000 pieces) and other service rooms. On weekdays, additional rooms in the house are open to visitors by kind permission of Lord and Lady Egremont. Uppark House Distance from The Angel Hotel - 8 miles A late 17th century house in an impressive setting. The drama of the 1989 fire and restoration adds to the magic of this romantic house, which is set high on the South Downs with magnificent sweeping views to the sea. The elegant Georgian interior houses a famous Grand Tour collection that includes paintings, furniture and ceramics. An 18th century doll's house with original contents is one of the highlights. The complete servants' quarters in the basement are shown as they were in Victorian days when H.G.Wells' mother was housekeeper. The beautiful and peaceful garden is now fully restored in the early 19th century Picturesque style, in a downland and woodland setting. If you require a personalised gift voucher please fill in the relevant details on your purchase. Your voucher and gift voucher (if required) will be sent to you by e-mail within an hour between the hours of 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week. Your voucher will be valid for 12 months and can be used any time subject to availability at the venue. Purchasing your break for a specific date To check availability for your break you will need to ring the venue directly advising them you are a spa and hotel break customer. Simply ask the hotel to reserve your room and then return to this web site to purchase your break at the special rate.
