Usk is a small town in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales, situated 10 miles from the bustling town of Newport. The River Usk and the Newport castle above the town, are the main focal points of this area. Usk developed as a small market town, and in recent years has become known for its ongoing success in Britain in Bloom competitions, winning the Large Village award in 2005.
