About the Venue
From the Hotel you can visit the lively and attractive town of Darlington, offering a variety of shops, a daily indoor market and a large market square. Stroll around Darlington's Victorian South Park, currently being restored to its former glory - it's a 91 acre haven in the heart of town or tackle one of a series of Darlington village walks with riverside paths and open landscapes. Attractions in Darlington include: family-friendly venues such as Darlington Railway Centre & Museum or discover the area's heritage with Piercebridge Roman Fort and Tees Cottage Pumping Station.
Head North to the magnificent Northumberland coast with its open beaches and historical castles, not forgetting to stop off and marvel at landmark sculpture, The Angel of the North.
Alternatively, head South East to the Yorkshire coastal resorts including the seaside town of Whitby. Whitby's skyline is dominated by the ruins of St. Hilda's Abbey, high on Whitby's East Cliff. Spreading below Whitby, a maze of alleyways and narrow streets run down to the busy quayside. From the old town of Whitby, 199 steps lead up to the parish church of St. Mary, whose churchyard on Whitby's East Cliff gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write his world famous book, Dracula.
Taste the local brew at the Black Sheep Brewery, situated at the gateway to Wensleydale, Masham. Learn how the Black Sheep Brewery was established in the early 90's, find out about the range of traditional ales and discover how they are brewed.
A trip to the Yorkshire Dales allows you to enjoy the stunning scenery and
perhaps a hike along one of the many walking trails. For those who enjoy a
little retail therapy, the Newcastle Metro Centre is home to many of the high
street names as well as some interesting independent shops.
